Mrs. Lang - Fourth GradeMonica Lang, in addition to being a Maternity of Mary alumnus, has been a teacher at MMSA for the past eleven years. She received her B.A. from St. Catherine's University and is currently pursuing her Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas in Curriculum and Instruction. She enjoys spending time with her fifteen beautiful grandchildren. The fourth graders will be concentrating on relishing and savoring what they have read. Monthly book reports, lit circles and reading in our anthology will be a major part of the language art program. Read alouds and discussion helps students connect to the material. We are approaching the end of September so the students' reading records should show that they have read at least three books so far this school year. A lovely addition to our language arts program was our attendance at the Children's Theatre production of 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins. Science
4th graders are becoming more proficient at identifying plant and animal cells. Detailed diagrams of both cell types should be found in their science notebooks. Math Place value, large numbers and working with decimals has been uppermost on our mathematical minds. We have been multiplying and doing a lot of skip counting. 4th graders have become very adept at writing large numbers in standard, expanded and word form.
Religion Our 4th grade prayer books are growing. The students are becoming more aware of the many ways we can learn about Our Creator. Stop by and view our beautiful bulletinn board in the hall declaring how great God is.
